Call it a lost season for Danny Granger.

The Pacers announced Thursday that Granger will miss the rest of the season to have surgery on his injured left knee.

The team made the decision after other treatment options failed to alleviate soreness in his knee. A consultation involving Granger, Pacers medical staff and Dr. James Andrews determined that more surgery was needed.

Granger had a procedure in October for patellar tendinosis. He returned Feb. 25 and played in five games before continued soreness in the knee forced him to the sidelines again. Further efforts to rehab the knee haven’t eliminated the problem, necessitating the latest procedure.

In a news release, the Pacers said Granger would be ready for training camp.
