After two days battling rainy and thunderstorms in Texas, IndyCar decided to postpone the Firestone 600 until Saturday, August 27. The race will resume on lap 72 of 248, where the race was halted Sunday afternoon due to rain.
The event at Texas Motor Speedway was originally scheduled for Saturday night, but IndyCar couldn’t even get a single lap in due to the moist conditions at the track. The race was pushed back a day, started around 3:00 p.m. eastern time Sunday, but red flagged around 3:40 p.m. due to the return of the storms.
James Hinchcliffe will start P1 when they drop the green flag again, followed by Ryan Hunter-Reay, Mikhail Aleshin, Will Power, and Ed Carpenter.
