Two men are dead following a pair of shootings just 9 hours apart in the same neighborhood on Indy’s near northeast side. The driver's side door and window of a white Chevy was riddled with bullets just before 6 o'clock Tuesday night near 38th and Tacoma. 21-year-old Dwight Berryhill was rushed to the hospital, but he died hours later. Just after 2:30 Wednesday morning, police were called to another home just a few hundred yards away on east 38th street and found another man shot to death in a backyard.

The Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Varun Manish Chheda, 20, from Indianapolis. He was a senior in data science and a little more than a month away from turning 21.
