ISOLATED AFTERNOON STORMS
I liken Friday’s storms to heating up “Jiffy-pop” popcorn – The build up of clouds during the heating of the day and a few t-storms pop to life. These slow moving and widely scattered storms will produce brief, heavy downpours, lightning, thunder and perhaps some small hail. Drifting south through the late afternoon they will diminish around or just after sunset.
A low pressure churning overhead along with day-time heating combine to produce the afternoon storms. The radar takes on a ‘measles’ effect build to minimal coverage. The weather will improve this evening.
After early evening storms skies are to clear and colder air will settle in. Temperatures are forecasts to dip into the middle to lower 40s by Early Saturday morning
High pressure take hold in time for the weekend. Cool mornings and sun filled afternoons are the forecast for this upcoming weekend. The dry air will once again lend itself to large daytime temperature spreads. Early morning Saturday and Sunday may start cool but warm to near 70° Saturday and reach the upper 70s Sunday. A southwest breeze will develop by Sunday afternoon. Rain chances are holding off again until Tuesday of next week. Enjoy the weekend!
