Good Saturday morning everyone! We are getting much needed rain this weekend into next week. A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for southern Indiana through Monday morning, this is where the heaviest rain is expected.
A lot of areas will see 2 to 4 inches of rain by Wednesday with locally higher amounts. If you encounter any roadways covered in water do not try and drive through it.
Even though the weekend is looking soggy we are getting a break from the heat for the next several days. All the clouds and showers today will keep highs around 80 degrees.
The reason for all of the rain is a cold front moving into the state that will become stalled and remain the focus for rain through the start of next week.
Due to a very moist atmosphere the rain will be very heavy at times.
Most of the rain on Sunday will occur in the morning hours with extended rain free hours in the afternoon.
Another system will move in Tuesday bringing more heavy rain. Precipitation chances continue through the end of the work week but there will be more dry time between showers Wednesday through Friday.
