The stuffy pattern rolls on and will not ease until we change the calendar. This August is headed into the record books as one of the warmest and wettest on record.  Currently ranks 11th warmest and 6th wettest.

To date, we have had over twice the normal rainfall - just over 6" so far, and it is the wettest August in 27 years!  All of the rain has fallen since the 10th of the month.  Remember, August opened driest sine 1997!

Relief if still a couple days away, a cold front will seep the state Wednesday night but before it passes more rain and more humidity to close out the month.

Some drenching downpours are to return again Tuesday. These are the hit and miss variety storms, any one of which could produce some locally heavy, flash flooding rains and driven by daytime heating.  Early morning stable air means clear skies, but watch clouds build and few will grow up to be rain producers.

The real relief will come after more rainfall Wednesday.  Downpours and occasional storms are likely Wednesday, perhaps starting early. When the rain eases then real changes will take hold.

High levels of humidity will be washed away as the driest air since August 22nd will flows into the state behind a southbound cold front.  It is looking like a great open to September and humidity is in full retreat by Thursday morning.

The Labor day weekend is looking outstanding.  Mild air will eventually give way to a southwest breeze come Monday. The weekend will warm each day and could top 90° Monday afternoon.   At this distance rainfall is not expected until perhaps late Monday.
